Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2018 is the official kickoff of the year-end giving season. Take this opportunity to support your favorite nonprofits.
Need ideas? Consider these well deserving organizations which I’ve long supported and/or volunteered for:
Charity Water provides clean water to communities around the world who would otherwise have to travel long distances for dirty water.
Dorot provides a wide range of senior services throughout the NYC area.
G-ds Love We Deliver provides healthy meals to those who are ill.
Mazon helps those who are hungry
Mitzvah Circle Foundation helps people in need, especially when affected by tragedy or crisis.
Nonprofit Technology Network (Nten) – If you work for a nonprofit, joining Nten is a must. It’s not just for technologists; year-round events also cover communications and fundraising.
Radical Age Movement seeks to call out ageism, wherever it appears in our society.
Selfhelp offers community services to seniors and other vulnerable New Yorkers, particularly those who are Holocaust survivors. I teach a monthly class for homebound seniors.
For more ideas, see my previous #GivingTuesday posts from 2017, 2016 and 2015. But whichever organizations you choose, please donate on (or after) #GivingTuesday and help them to continue to do their important work.
