Covid-19 Impact: Insights from the Vulnerable

The lockdown of major Nigerian cities in March 2020 in response to the Covid-19 pandemic had a major impact on the lives and businesses of the Government Enterprise and Empowerment Program (GEEP) beneficiaries and the vulnerable segments of society.

To ensure the journey towards recovery was fully inclusive, and with the support of Rockefeller Philanthropy Advisors (RPA) – a fiscal sponsor of projects at the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, a survey was conducted between August 2020 to May 2021 targeting GEEP beneficiaries across Nigeria’s six (6) geopolitical regions, to understand direct Covid-19 pandemic effect on the livelihoods of households in Nigeria.

Based on their findings, dissemination events were being planned by RPA and the Bank of Industry (BOI)’s Growth Platform to present the findings, key lessons, and recommendations from the Covid-19 Impact Survey.
